Paul A. Tabary, III is the founding member of the firm and was raised in St. Bernard Parish. His practice focuses on litigation including insurance defense, coverage and bad faith, medical malpractice defense, business litigation defense, and general commercial disputes. Paul’s litigation experience is extensive having first chaired numerous jury trials in both state and federal courts. He also represents clients at all appellate levels. He has been practicing in St. Bernard Parish since 1983. Paul received a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University School of Law and was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 1978. He currently serves on the Louisiana State Board of Delegates and serves on the Board of Directors for Southeast Louisiana Legal Services. Paul has been recognized by New Orleans Magazine as a Top Lawyer in 2009, and has an AV Peer Review Rating with Martindale Hubbell, the highest rating for legal ability and general ethical standards.

Elizabeth “Lisa” Borne is a partner of the firm. She provides counsel in insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, medical malpractice defense, appellate matters, business litigation, general litigation, and family law matters. Lisa’s insurance experience includes first and third party disputes including claims for property damage, business interruption, and bodily injury. In addition to commercial clients, Lisa also represents individuals in matters involving domestic disputes, community property partitions, and personal injury claims. Lisa received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2006. While at St. Thomas, she participated in Moot Court and was an Executive Member of the Board of Advocates. Lisa was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 2006. Recently Lisa was recognized by Louisiana Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in the area of insurance coverage for 2016. As a resident of St. Bernard, she completed the Leadership St. Bernard inaugural program in 2014, and remains a current and active member.

Lacey Tabary is an associate of the firm. She provides counsel in insurance defense, coverage, and bad faith litigation. She also handles appellate matters, successions, wills, real estate, general litigation, construction law, and local taxation issues. Lacey received a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University and a Juris Doctorate degree, magna cum laude, from Southern University Law Center in 2008. While at Southern University, Lacey received the CALI Award for Excellence in Succession, Federal Jurisdiction and Procedure, Commercial Papers, Legal Writing, and Advanced Legal Writing. Lacey was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 2008. Lacey is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the St. Bernard Bar Association, and the Louisiana State Bar Association.

Justin W. Stephens

Justin W. Stephens

Justin W. Stephens is an associate of the firm. He provides counsel in the areas of insurance defense, insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. He also is experienced in health care law including Stark II compliance, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare provider licensure issues. In addition to insurance and health care matters, Justin handles bankruptcy litigation on behalf of creditors and represents trade creditors in the construction industry, preserving and enforcing liens and asserting commercial account claims throughout Louisiana. Justin received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Louisiana State University and a Juris Doctorate with a Certificate in International Trade Law in 2006 from Loyola University College of Law. Justin is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Louisiana and in the state of Texas. He is also licensed to practice in U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana. Justin is a past author and presenter for the National Business Institute, a past author for the CMBS Special Servicers blog, and is a regular presenter of educational seminars on lien and construction laws for the National Association of Credit Management.
